Goals
The Howard County Terps Football and Cheer program is based in Columbia, MD. Our goal is to help our student-atheletes develop a love for the game of football by teaching Teamwork, Excellence, Respect, and Perserverance to achieve Success. This year, we have also established a set of program goals and objectives to help define our success for the 2010 season.
These goals and objectives are as follows:
- Retain at least 80% of our student-athletes from the 2009 season: teams 6-8 through 10-12.
- Encourage and promote our student-athletes so that at least 75% of our participants qualify for either a Silver or Gold Achievement Award at the end of the season.
- Create opportunities for our parents to stay connected to our program by hosting at least four community outreach events such as seminars and workshops.
- Improve win percentage of our National teams from 69% last year to 75% and our Federal teams from 82% last year to 85%.
- Be among the top four teams in the new Centennial Division
- Have all teams advance to the playoffs and at least five teams advance to the MMYFCL Championship games.
- Revive our Cheerleading Program by having at least 50 girls participate in Cheer and 5 coaches.
- Support our fundraising efforts by securing a minimum of four program corporate/business sponsors giving at least $1,000 each.
- Give back to our community by offering at least two full registration scholarships to student-athletes who need financial support.
